ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Our Background
Medicare Health Professionals College was established to contribute to addressing the need for skilled mid-level health professionals in Uganda. The College is committed to providing accessible, quality health professional education that combines academic knowledge, practical skills and professional values, enabling graduates to make a meaningful contribution to healthcare delivery and community wellbeing.
Our History
Since its establishment in 2002, Medicare Health Professionals College has continued to grow in response to the changing needs of the health sector. From its beginnings as a college offering Clinical Medicine and Community Health, MHPC has progressively broadened its academic programs and strengthened its practical training opportunities through partnerships with hospitals, health centers and communities.
Academic & Practical Training
Learning at MHPC combines classroom-based instruction with hands-on practical experience. Students receive theoretical training at the College and apply their knowledge through practical placements in hospitals, health centres and communities, helping them develop the skills and confidence required for professional practice.
College Governance & Administration
The College is governed by the College Council, the highest decision-making body, and managed by a team led by the Principal, Academic Registrar and Dean of Students. Academic, administrative and support staff work together to provide an effective learning environment and support the day-to-day operations of the College.
Student Leadership & Participation
Students play an active role in College life through the Student Guild Council and other student activities. These opportunities encourage leadership, responsibility, teamwork and participation in the wider College community.
Our Future
Medicare Health Professionals College continues to look towards expanding its contribution to health professional education in Uganda. The College’s future plans include extending its presence to other parts of the country, expanding opportunities for advanced professional training and pursuing its long-term vision of developing into a university college
