Research Focus Areas
Community & Public Health
Research addressing health needs within communities, disease prevention, health education and access to appropriate health services.
Maternal & Child Health
Studies focused on maternal, newborn and child health, including factors affecting health outcomes and access to care.
Health Services & Quality
Research examining healthcare delivery, quality of care, health-service management and factors affecting effective service provision.
Laboratory & Clinical Practice
Research related to laboratory practice, clinical care, diagnosis, treatment and other areas relevant to health professional training.
Student & Staff Research
Research at Medicare provides opportunities for students and staff to investigate health-related questions arising from clinical practice, community health and health-service delivery.
Students undertake research as part of their academic development, gaining experience in identifying health problems, collecting and analysing information, interpreting findings and presenting evidence-based recommendations.
Faculty and other health professionals contribute through research, supervision, collaboration and dissemination of findings.

Factors Influencing Adherence to COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines among the Elderly
A cross-sectional study examining the level of adherence to COVID-19 prevention guidelines among elderly patients and the individual and social factors influencing adherence within the study population.
Uganda Health Professionals Journal
Medicare Health Professionals College supports the dissemination of health research through the Uganda Health Professionals Journal, providing a platform for research articles and abstracts from College staff, Ugandan health professionals and other contributors.
Research Collaboration
The College promotes collaboration with researchers, health professionals, academic institutions and other relevant partners. These collaborations provide opportunities to share knowledge, strengthen research capacity and contribute to evidence-based approaches to health and healthcare delivery.
